General questions
Where are the Rembrandt van Wine art studios located?
We have 5 beautiful ateliers in The Netherlands, 2 in Amsterdam, 1 in Rotterdam, 1 in Utrecht and 1 in Eindhoven. We also regularly host events in other cities around the country in collaboration with restaurants and clubs.

What language is being spoken during the events?
Most events will be held in English since we get quite some international visitors and it would be a little mean to leave them hanging with only Dutch instructions. However, most our hosts and art instructors speak both languages (and more!) so will be perfectly fine helping you personally in your preferred language!
What is the age limit for attending a Rembrandt van Wine event?
We don't have a strict age limit. However, we ask each parent to decide for themselves whether they want their kid around in the party-like environment. If you are in doubt and want to discuss, feel free to send us an email at info@rembrandtvanwine.nl.
Are food and drinks provided?
Drinks are all taken care of, they are on us. No need to bring anything yourself.
During a regular event we do not serve food and there is no option to order it either. The event lasts for 2 hours so if you are afraid you will be hungry then please eat something beforehand. It is possible to arrange some snacks at a private event, depending on your wishes.
How long before an event should I arrive?
Ideally around 5 minutes before the start time of the event (which is stated on the website as well as in the email you received after booking). We open ours doors 10 minutes before the event, giving you plenty of time to settle in and get ready for the actual event.
Do I need to bring my own art supplies?
No, you don’t need to bring anything at all.
We will give you everything you need to create a masterpiece, including an apron so your pretty clothes don’t get dirty!
You only need to bring your biggest smile.
Do you offer refunds?
No, we don’t offer refunds. If you can’t make it on the date you planned to join we do offer you to freely reschedule to a new date. Do note that we only offer this service up until 5 days in advance, as otherwise it might be impossible for us to re-sell your ticket. If you find out that you can’t make it within 5 days of the event then we offer you to freely change the names on the tickets so you can make someone else happy with a night at Rembrandt van Wine.
For private events things are slightly different:
- 100 percent refund when cancelling more than 3 weeks in advance of the exact starting time of the event.
- 50 percent refund when cancelling between 1-3 weeks in advance of the exact starting time of the event.
- 0 percent refund when cancelling within 7 days of the event of the exact starting time of the event.
What if I can't make it on the date I have a ticket for?
If you can’t make it on the date you planned to join we offer you to freely reschedule to a new date. Do note that we only offer this service up until 5 days in advance, as otherwise it might be impossible for us to re-sell your ticket. If you find out that you can’t make it within 5 days of the event then we offer you to freely change the names on the tickets so you can make someone else happy with a night at Rembrandt van Wine.
Can I join a Rembrandt van Wine night solo?
Yes, you should!
We even hold some spare tickets behind for cool people wanting to come solo, just send us a message and we will get it sorted (even when an event appears to be sold-out).
Rembrandt van Wine is all about having fun, getting out of your comfort zone, learning something new in a judgemental free environment. Riding solo is a big part of all that!
Can I make a group reservation?
Yes, of course you can do this.
There are two options here, you can either buy as many tickets as your group needs for any of the events on our website.
We can also organize a private event just for you and your group. Fill out this form and we will make sure to arrange something super special just for you and your group!
Can I choose my seat?
Seats are not reserved – you can sit wherever you want. If you are coming with a group, we recommend being on time so you have first pick of the seats. Otherwise – no worries – just ask our painter / host and they will help you with the seating arrangement.
Are the studios wheelchair accessible?
Rotterdam: Yes, our Rotterdam studio is fully wheelchair accessible.
Amsterdam: Yes, our Amsterdam studio is fully wheelchair accessible. Please note that there is an elevator to reach the studio.
Eindhoven: Our Eindhoven studio is on the ground floor, however, please note there is a 15cm step at the studio door that needs to be navigated.
Utrecht: Our Utrecht studio is on the 1st floor but there is a large elevator that can take you up there :)
Paint & Sip questions
What can I expect from a Rembrandt van Wine Paint & Sip event?
Hard to put the whole experience into words, but since you asked:
We invite you to arrive around 10 minutes before the start of the event, giving you some time to settle in and get comfortable before we start with the actual painting.
Once everyone is in our host & art instructor will give everyone a warm welcome, and just the right instructions to get you started.
Then, it is mainly just 2 hours of painting and having fun. While you get into the painting, our art instructor is walking around for personal painting advice.
Finally, there is some time to wander around yourself, look at the other creations, have a chat and take some photos before we say goodbye at the end of the 2 hours.
But you are not leaving empty handed, you of course get to take your creation home with you!
Do I have to follow the theme of the day?
We are not the art police, you can paint anything you want.
Our art instructor is walking around and able to give you personal advice even if you paint something completely different from the theme of the day.
Plus we have around 30 other painting templates to choose from in our studio, with written instructions on the back might you need it.
What types of paintings can I expect at Rembrandt van Wine?
There is no clear-cut answer to that as we tend to vary the paintings we create over time. For the most recent update you can check our event calendar where they are all on full display. Important note: You can always paint whatever you want, in no way, shape or form is anyone going to enforce you to paint the painting of the day. If you organise a private event with us then you can, if you wish, choose the painting you and your group will create.
Do I need painting experience?
All levels are welcome at the Rembrandt van Wine painting sessions.
The art instructors are there to help you at every step along the way, no matter whether it is your first time or your name is Rembrandt and you want to focus on developing further a specific painting technique.
However, you don’t have to listen to our art instructors, you can also embrace your creative mind and paint it your own way. It is up to you!
What is included in the price for the Sip and Paint?
Everything you need for the sip and paint: Art supplies, paint, art instructor, music, and a great amount of fun. We also take care of all the drinks.
Plus, you get to bring your masterpiece home afterwards!
Can I bring my painting home directly after the event?
Absolutely, the paint typically dries pretty fast making you able to bring your masterpiece home with you directly after the event.
To make things even easier either bring yourself a bag for transport or buy one of our beautiful and sturdy Rembrandt van Wine shoppers on location (5eu).
How does a neon painting look in the daylight?
Equally spectacular, but either very different or very the same depending on your painting decisions. We provide you with both neon and normal acrylic paint, ensuring that the painting can look both magical under black lights and beautiful under normal lights. We typically recommend starting with acrylic paint, and then adding some finishing touches and details with neon as these will then really pop out of your canvas. However, it is up to you how much of each paint you decide to use, and thereby how your painting will turn out in the normal light.
How long does a Rembrandt van Wine paint event last?
A Rembrandt van Wine event lasts for 2 hours.
We have learned that this is the perfect duration for some painting and socialising! We might go 5 or 10 minutes over time but we generally try to finish-up after 2 hours. By the way, you are welcome to arrive 10 minutes prior to the event.

We provide you with both neon and normal acrylic paint, ensuring that the painting can look both magical under black lights and beautiful under normal lights. We typically recommend starting with acrylic paint, and then adding some finishing touches and details with neon as these will then really pop out of your canvas.
However, it is up to you how much of each paint you decide to use, and thereby how your painting will turn out in the normal light.
Clay & Sip questions
What happens during a Rembrandt van Wine clay event?
Hard to put the whole experience into words, but since you asked: We invite you to arrive around 10 minutes before the start of the event, giving you some time to settle in, grab a drink (or two) and get comfortable before we start with the actual claying. Once everyone is in our host & clay master will give everyone a warm welcome, and just the right instructions to get you started. Then, it is mainly just 2 hours of claying and having fun. While you get into the claying, our art instructor is walking around for personal advice. Meanwhile, our host is walking around to top off your drink. After about 1 hour, and plenty of time to clay we move on to the next step: Painting of your creation. The clay master & host will again give some instructions to get you started and then it is up to you to bring your creation to life. Finally, there is some time to wander around yourself, look at the other creations, have a chat and take some photos before we say goodbye at the end of the 2 hours. “But you are not leaving empty handed, because we use air drying clay you are able to immediately take your clay creation home with you! We give you a protective box for the transport and after about 24-48 hours it has fully dried.”
Do I need any experience with clay?
All levels are welcome at the Rembrandt van Wine Clay & Sip sessions.
The art instructors are there to help you at every step along the way, no matter whether it is your first time or you are already an experienced clay master looking to improve a specific technique. However, you don’t have to listen to our art instructors, you can also embrace your creative mind and go your own way.
What types of clay works can I expect at Rembrandt van Wine?
We have seen A LOT of different creations over time, you can literally create anything from clay with the right dose of skill and creativity. You are always able to clay whatever you want to clay.
Do I need to bring my own art supplies?
No, you don’t need to bring anything at all.
We will give you everything you need to create a masterpiece, including an apron so your pretty clothes don’t get dirty!
You only need to bring your biggest smile.
What is included in the price for the Clay and Sip?
Everything you need for the clay event: The atelier to yourself, all clay equipment, drinks, an experienced clay master to help you, good music, plus 2 hours of guaranteed fun. Plus, you get to bring your creation home afterwards!
Does my clay work need to go into the oven?
No, you will use air drying clay and because of that we don’t need to bake your creation before you can bring it home. Instead, we place it in a protective box at the end of the event making you able to safely transport it home and let it dry in your own home. The drying process typically takes between 24-48 hours depending on how much water and paint you used.
Can I bring my clay work home directly after the event?

A Rembrandt van Wine event lasts for 2 hours.
We have learned that this is the perfect duration for approximately 1 hour of clay, 45 minutes of painting, and 15 extra minutes for socialising! We might go 5 or 10 minutes over time but we generally try to finish-up after 2 hours. By the way, you are welcome to arrive 10 minutes prior to the event.
